Steamed Pork and Egg with Tofu

I have some leftover fresh soy-beans-drink I made days ago.So I decided to mix my homemade soy bean juice with egg and pork for a dish my mom and grandma used to make for us when we are young. I remember when I was young I used to eat steamed egg and pork almost weekly. So for me this dish can consider a comfort food !! it's easy ,fast, inexpensive and tasty dish to enjoy at home!! Beside soy bean juice I also mixed with kani(imitation crab stick) and shrimp and top with soy sauce and sesame oil .This dish is also suitable and friendly for young children .

300 gm minced pork
4 eggs,beaten
3/4 cup soy bean drink or silken tofu
5-6 shrimp,shelled and chopped
3 sticks imitation crabstick,cut 1/2
1 tbsp sea salt
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp ground white pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
handful julienne carrot
handful scallion

1:Prepare steamer or wok with water at high heat.Combine all (A) ingredients in a deep pie glass plate or stainless steel deep plate.
2:When water is rolling boil, place pork mixture plate onto the steamer with cover.Steam at high heat for 20-30 minutes or until it's cooked.
3:While waiting for the pork mixture to cook, prepare a small skillet with (B).When the sauce bubble boil, shut off the heat.
4:Remove steamed pork from steamer and invert into another deep plate or just leave as it's in the steam plate.Pour soy sauce on top of the steamed pork.
5:Serve warm with rice.

Lesley, why add tofu? Just curious.

I saw some Malaysian foodblogger make this dish b4..Tofu make the dish more soft and creamy...especially with minced pork..Like adding corn can omit tofu by adding more egg,so your prok won't be so rough..Hope this help:)
