Ingredients:
1 whole chicken,about 3 lbs,washed and cut small
5 cloves garlic,peeled and chopped,
12 inch ginger,bruised and sliced
10 dried whole pepper
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sugar
5-6 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp oil
1 cup water
soy sauce to taste
some cut scallion
1:Prepare a deep skillet with oil and sesame oil at medium high heat.add in ginger and garlic,sauteed until lightly brown or fragrant.Add in dried whole pepper and chicken.
2:Use spatula and mix ingredients well,add in water ans seasoning.Braised chicken for 20-30 minutes or until cooked.
3:Id it's too dry add more water if necessary.Check the seasoning before sprinkle some cut scallion.
4:Dish out and serve warm with rice.

ReplyDeleteI love 麻油鸡 alot ! I ate lots of these during my confinement cooked with kampong chicken and black chicken.......so yummy. I cook this dish frequently as my family enjoy it so much..... I can imagine the aroma of sesame oil lingering in your kitchen....hmmmmmm.... so nice !

thanks!oh!! I miss the kampong chicken!! here we don't have this type of chicken,maybe the closer is FREE Range but it's expensive too..

oh yes! don't we all have hate and love relation wt confinement food.during confinement I hate this but now I love it!
Sesame oil is good for the cold winter days.
